This was a stop on our honeymoon trip, and it was phenomenal! The folks here were more than accommodating and hospitable, and the location is in perfect walking distance to the main sites. We stayed in a suite in the carriage house (behind the main house) and it was breath-taking. The garden courtyard was beautiful. The freshly-made breakfast was delicious. It would be hard to beat this place! We will definitely be going back.

My boyfriend and I stayed at Peace and Plenty for two nights. We were in the Serendipity Suite, which is a pet friendly room. The room was quaint and lovely. The room overlooked the beautiful garden area and fountain. The amenities of the room were average, including TV/cable, small iron/board, hair dryer, and travel sized soaps, etc. The bathroom was big and included a hot tub (you want to bring your own bubbles) and you can't use it after 11pm. The bed was comfortable and so was the couch in the small living room area where the TV is located. The only issue we had with the room was that both my boyfriend and myself were very allergic to something in there. Perhaps a cat was in there at some point, even though the owner attested that cats weren't allowed, but that's all we're allergic to. Even our dog was sneezing and had watery eyes all weekend. That was really the reason for 4 stars. I think because it's all carpeted and fairly old, there may still be pet dander or fur buried deep into the fibers. I did find pet hair on the blanket. Thankfully we found some Claritin in a nearby store. Breakfast was served until 10am, which is a bit early to end for us people who take advantage of sleeping in. Also, not much of a variety. You either eat what they're serving, or have cereal. Our first meal was a cheesecake crepe with fruit and blueberry sauce. I am a vegetarian, so I didn't get any sausage links. I did appreciate that they took that into consideration. There was also juice, coffee and an array of hot tea to choose from. The house itself was lovely. We did not go upstairs to check out the rest of it, but I'm sure it was nice. The dining area was large and had various neatly decorated tables. The parlor was my favorite area. Each evening, cake, sherry, and port was set out for people to enjoy. It was a great place to chit chat with other guests. The cakes were store bought, but displayed nicely. The sherry was tasty and we enjoyed having it while classical music played in the background. Also, complimentary drinks were provided throughout the day and night including water, sodas, beer, and wine. Overall, our stay was good. Glenna, the owner, was nice and helpful. She answered all of my questions quickly and accurately. I definitely recommend this B&B to anyone wanting an affordable and comfortable place to stay. The house is only a couple of blocks away from the main area in historic St. Augustine, which made it easy to come back and forth.

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying in the Peace & Plenty Inn as our first Bed & Breakfast experience. We were warmly greeted at the front door upon arrival and given a quick tour of the common areas and then taken to our room where Glenna gave us a map of the area and explained a little about some of the places and offered to make any dinner reservations etc. should we need them! We stayed in room 7, the Happiness Spa Suite which was located behind the main house in the Carriage House. We couldn't have been more pleased with the room! The pictures on the website of the room are lovely, but the room was SO much more beautiful in person! It is SO clean and modern and very quiet with it's own exterior entrance, which we found we liked the best since we tend to stay out a little later than most people do! But the entrance to the room was still inside the B&B's courtyard area, which was also beautiful and serene. The courtyard area featured several seating areas, all equipped with very attractive outdoor furnishings that looked like they were brand new. There was also a gas fire pit under the pergola, there was an adorable little greenhouse and two huge fountains that were very so calming to sit and listen to! Complimentary soda, beer and wine are available at all times, which we so appreciated! Then cakes, sherry and port are served every evening at 6pm. We couldn't get over how delicious all of the goodies were! The coconut and carrot cakes were our favorite. We also had never had port or sherry and were a little intimidated at first, but came to realize we love port! Breakfast was also phenomenal each morning! We got to enjoy fresh fruit, quiche, strawberry waffles, eggs benedict and the most delicious turkey sausage we'd ever had. They also had some very unique fruit juice blends that were excellent! The staff was very pleasant and did a great job of providing us with everything we needed! We even accidentally locked ourselves out one morning but were back in immediately after Glenna gave us a spare! Glenna, the innkeeper, was genuinely warm and pleasant. She made herself easily available but was not a nuisance. (We didn't expect her to come tuck us in at night, as I fear some other reviewers may have desired?) She greeted us by name each morning at breakfast and asked us how we were and we would pass by her a few other times throughout the day as we were coming and going. We enjoyed a nice conversation and a good farewell as we left at the end of our stay and were made to feel as though we were family. Soon after leaving, I even received a call from Glenna that I had left a piece of jewelry and she mailed it back to me right away! But most of all, the location of the Peace and Plenty Inn was perfect. It was located right in the historic district, just a few minutes walk from many of the sites and attractions and a block or so away from one of the Red Train stops, which was how we did most of our traveling in St. Augustine. The Peace and Plenty is right next door to a few other bed and breakfasts but I genuinely think the Peace and Plenty was the nicest looking (and had better parking!) For the price, this place is unbeatable! We will probably never stay in a hotel again, we are now B&B fans!

Booked a room on a whim and got an excellent deal on a room (three room suite!). The staff is very cordial and polite, but not the overfriendly type that intrudes or is too involved. We were given plenty of privacy, but knew they were there to assist if needed. The house is absolutely beautiful and decorated in the most charming way. We were in love with all of the decor and little trinkets found throughout the inn. Be sure the checkout the garden which has a lovely fountain that practically sparkles at sunrise. Breakfast was a tad disappointing and felt rushed, but the waiting staff was very enthusiastic. There is self serve coffee in morning and sherry/wine/beer at night! However I recommend going out for coffee instead if you are a coffee snob, because their brew wasn't very good. If you are the type to sleep in, I would strongly advise you to not get a room on the first floor. There is a lot of ruckus between the kitchen prep and the stairs as early as 6AM. If that's too early for you definitely avoid room Harmony #1 and book one of their other wonderful rooms. All in all we had a lovely stay and would recommend it to anyone! Great location, view, and value!

We stayed at the Peace & Plenty over Christmas weekend. We arrived on Saturday and left on Christmas Day. We were greeted warmly by Glenna who was an amazing hostess. She was a great source of information about the town, places to eat, things to see, and details about some of the towns history. You could ask her anything and she probably knew the answer. The house was a charming historic home and had a cozy holiday feel to it as it was wonderfully decorated for Christmas. This made our Christmas just right and exactly what we wanted. We really got lucky that we were on the best decorated street in town. So much so that the Holiday Trolleys pass the house every day. We stayed in room #3. Our room was very comfortable and the king bed was extremely comfortable. We stayed in the main house and I felt right at home. We really enjoyed the complimentary wine and treats offered every night as well. The breakfast changed each day and the menu was displayed at the front door each night so you knew what to expect the next morning. Everything we had was wonderful. Next time we are in St. Augustine we will definitely return to the Peace & Plenty B&B. Thank you for making our holiday so special!

My husband and I, along with our two dear friends, chose St. Augustine for our annual Christmas get-together. We spent 4 nights at Peace & Plenty the weekend before Christmas, and just checked out today (Christmas Day). I miss it already! The location is perfect, in Old Town and in walking distance to everything. Over the course of our 4 nights/days we never moved our car (one parking space for each suite). We strolled everywhere! Glenna is a wonderful hostess, providing thoughtful insight into places to visit and how to get there. Each morning, she'd ask us about our plans for the day and if we had any questions, and in the afternoons she'd welcome us back. We really felt like we were "at home" in her home. My husband and I stayed in Tranquility Suite #4, and our friends were next door in #3. Both are upstairs in the main house (as is #2). We loved #4 as we had a full private balcony with chairs and table to enjoy our mornings with coffee and our evenings with wine. Our friends loved #3 for the super comfy King-sized bed. Their suite was very light and airy with windows that really brought in the light, and I especially liked the size of their bathroom. While our bathroom in #4 was smaller, and our bed was a Queen, the balcony is the reason I would book this room again. If it was the dead heat of the summer, however, I doubt we'd use the balcony much, and would probably opt for another room instead. We also toured #2 while there was no guest staying in the room. This suite has a large sitting room with TV. There was no TV in the bedroom, so the TV watching would really need to be done in the sitting room if this is an important feature for someone. Other than that, it was a spacious suite also, and very nice. Legend is that this suite is where Sophie Decher is sometimes seen. Sophie was the wife of Conrad Decher who purchased the house in 1895. The breakfasts changed each morning, and were another thoughtful touch to our stay. Food was served elegantly, and we appreciated the quality of a gourmet breakfast as opposed to a continental breakfast anyone can find in a hotel. Each evening brought us to the living room to create small plates of desserts and pour a glass of wine (red or white wine, Coke, Diet Coke, bottled water, cans of beer were all available at all times with port and sherry only available in the evenings). We enjoyed the space here with the Christmas tree, but most often enjoyed our goodies on our balcony before retiring each night. Some have said the carriage house is more private, however, we did not feel any lack of privacy in the main house at all. There are only three rooms upstairs, so there is no foot traffic to speak of. The house is a quiet space, and you can see the commitment to "Peace" in everything from the scents, the light music playing at breakfast, the artwork in the rooms, and the overall decorating schemes which varied from room to room. There is no doubt in my mind that we will return. I really wish it could be sooner rather than later! SPECIAL NOTE -- The Peace & Plenty Inn is one of the houses on the Holly Jolly Trolly route during the Nights of Lights.

My husband and I wanted to get away for a weekend after the start of the new year. We felt so, so fortunate that we found availability at such short notice. We stayed a Thursday and Friday night at the Peace & Plenty Inn and could not have had a lovelier time. We were greeted by Glenna who took very good care of accommodating us. She showed us around the inn and took us to our room, which was waiting for us with two (Hershey) kisses! She was extremely helpful in explaining as the error, as we really hadn't done our research. She provided us with a tourist map which turned out to be a life saver and also gave us coupons. She recommended us trying the Ice Plant for dinner one night, and that ended up being a highlight of our trip. We definitely would not have known about it without her. The house itself was perfect. We stayed in the Serendipity #2 room. It was clean and well decorated. My husband kept walking around saying "this is so fancy!' In fact, my husband asked Glenna right away if she happened to have availability for an extra night (unfortunately she did not). We couldn't get over the fact that we were in a house. We were never disturbed by the other house guests and didn't even know they were there (except at breakfast of course). The breakfast we had each morning was meticulously prepared and so delicious. The first morning we had strawberry waffles and the second morning we had quiche that was to die for. Whoever is doing the cooking is doing a great job! Each night there was port, sherry, and cake served in the sitting room which was really nice. Unlimited beer/wine/soda is always a big plus, too. The location of P&P is ideal. It's within walking distance of just about everything. You only have to drive if you want to go over the bridge (such as to the lighthouse or alligator farm). While staying at P&P we never moved our car once! We saved going to the Lighthouse til our day of checkout. I only have two small complaints (and they clearly didn't take away from my rating). First, the beer/wine/soda is kept in a small refrigerator downstairs. The fridge wasn't very cold at all. We would grab a can of whatever and stick it on ice in our room for awhile before drinking it. Second, the shower in the room (we stayed in Serendipity #2) was laughably small. It was smaller than a cruise ship shower! You couldn't even bend over - in fact, I don't think all people could even fit inside. This might bother some people. We didn't really care because of the fact that there is a giant jacuzzi tub in the bathroom to make up for the small shower and that was very nice.

Great place to stay in St. Augustine. We stayed in the Nirvana(I think that's what it's called!) suite. The bathroom is totally updated with an amazing shower with rock wall. There is an outside seating area with a small fire pit and chandelier. There is a cute cat that stays outside named Starsky. There is complimentary beer and wine and great breakfast. The inn keeper is really nice and she gave us a coupon book and tips on where to eat. My husband and I can't wait to go back.

Peace & Plenty is a solid 4 star Bed and Breakfast. It is one of the cheapest B&Bs in the area, and you get most of the perks of the other places. Here's the breakdown. Pros Cost: We paid $89 plus tax off season for a nice room with a full kitchen. Now most people don't want to cook on vacation, but I love cooking, so to have a kitchen I could make a small meal at 2 am was fantastic. But even the other rooms were not much more if you don't want to see a stove during your romantic get-away. Comfort: The bed was nice. The room was pleasant. The bathroom was cozy. There was a little courtyard that was somewhat enjoyable. Location: The house is two blocks from the Lightner Museum and four blocks from the river. Cons Service: The owner is pretty stuffy and definitely not warm. She runs things more like a hotel than a B&B. I am not saying she was mean, but don't expect a hug when you walk in the door. Food/Drinks: There is free wine and beer available in the main house all day, but it is really low quality. There is evening snacks with port and scotch, but also the drinks were not good quality and the treats were ok. The french toast for breakfast was very good, but somewhat small portions, and the accompanying sausage was Jimmy Dean-like frozen sausage. Again, nothing was bad, but just not stellar. But for the cost, it was to be expected. Ants: There were a few carpenter ants that were on the wall in the bathroom next to the tub. This is an old house, like everything in St. Augustine, so it is no surprise. But still, I would have preferred no ants. Overall, this place is a great deal. If you are comparing staying here to staying at the Hilton for the same price, I would take this place in a heart beat. But if you are looking for an uber-romantic stay in tranquil St. A, then there are better (though more expensive) B&B options in the area.

My boyfriend and I decided to stay at our first bed and breakfast for Valentine's day this year and oh boy did we make a good decision. After hours of researching we landed on the Peace and Plenty Inn. We were greeted by our hostess who was very informative and knew just about anything you wanted to know about St. Augustine. She gave us a tour of the Inn and then showed us to our room, which was lovely. We even had our own private balcony and Jacuzzi. She gave us maps of the area and recommended places for us to have a romantic dinner. She then left us to get settled and we relaxed on our bed for a little before sightseeing. It was so big and soft, we wanted to take it home with us. The bed was not complimentary but there were complimentary drinks such as beer, wine, soda, water, coffee, tea, as well as after dinner desserts and sherry and port. We were the first ones to break into the desserts and it was all done with so much love and care. Also while we were snacking our hostess gave us a Chocolate Heart as a gift and said "Happy Thanksgiving". It was so funny, such an odd mistake to make but we all had a good laugh over it. After the laughing and during the snacking I was able to look at all of the records of the house. A thumping good read if I do say so myself. Really neat to stay in such an old place. And our B&B was not advertised as "Haunted" as many are but it sure looked it. It looked like one of those places you see on the ghost TV shows, but I didn't want to know until we were leaving because if it was I didn't want to see something everyone else said they have seen. I wanted to see it on my own. Our room came with everything we could have needed from soap to bath-robes. There is a great view from the balcony. The decor was very nice, I got a chance to glance into other rooms at the end of our stay and it seems as though they all had different themes. There was a marching band suit outside of our door and it freaked me out a couple of times but I got used to him. Also some dolls I wasn't really a fan of but it was nothing personal, I just don't care for dolls. The next morning we had breakfast in the dining room, we were treated to a variety of breakfast foods like cereal and fruit, but the real treat was the Waffles! We had to wait for a little bit because I'm pretty sure there were only two people back there tending to everything. But it was so worth the wait. It was like they found a way to batter and deep fry butter. So crunchy on the outside and soft and buttery on the inside. It was perfect. I wish I could have them for breakfast every morning. Also I loved the back round music and the art on the walls. Very classy. Another great thing about B&Bs is that the majority of the patrons are older. So even though we are in our early 20's it's nice that everyone else is 60+ because that way you don't have to worry about loud drunkenness while you're trying to relax, which I'm sure at first they were concerned about us being that way but we ended up making quite a few friends from this trip. So the answer to the big question, is the Peace and Plenty Inn haunted? Yes! But just in one room. Which room? Well that's for me to know and for you to find out. But don't worry. She's very nice. :)

I love this b and b. Breakfast is great. Close to everything. Free alcohol is always a plus. Wife is dairy free and they accomodated her with no issues all week. Cat on site, but not inside. His name is starsky. Grouds are nice. Room was clean.

My wife and I stayed here. I think I liked it more than she did. We had a nice room, the bed was comfortable, and while the appointments were old / antique, that goes with the whole B&B atmosphere. It is practically in the downtown square of St Augustine, so all of that stuff is easily walkable. The B&B has free parking. The breakfast was quite good.

Hands down the best B&B to stay in St Augustine. Very close walk to historic square, Lightner Museum, Flagler College, shops and restaurants- plus free parking. Furnishings were elegant, cozy atmosphere, very warm and kind innkeeper who answered all of our questions and made some great recommendations for local restaurants and sights. Plus the room prices are very competitive- you get a lot for your money here. Complementary beer, wine, sodas, coffee, tea and snacks in the parlor- and a tasty breakfast in the morning which we had delivered to our room. Jacuzzi tub was quite nice and we had a great view from the balcony. A real gem for romantic getaways. We will definitely be back!

For the price you cannot beat this B&B. Great location, walking distance to almost everything. The room was nice and room service cleaned everyday. The breakfast was good, my wife says great. The fridge was stocked with soda and other drinks for free. Cake and drinks in the evening, we don't drink, but the cake was good. For around 100$ during the weekdays you can't go wrong...we stayed in the carriage house and liked the extra privacy..

We have stayed at seven other bnbs in St Augustine... this will be our top choice of return picks! Location is just as good as any others, but quieter than on A1A. A five min walk to historic area at the most, but the decor, finishing touches and amenities put this at the top. Although there were three small negatives, we would not call them downfalls or anything worth passing this by. There was construction next door and at the carriage house during our stay which took over parts of the garden area but it was done with by evening...still a heads up would've been nice since those rooms were still ones we had considered and were available. The hostess was nice and very helpful but there was some warmth lacking for some reason. Last of all, we would have liked to hear what was being served for breakfast before it was out in front of us, which the other guests benefited from...only because of dislikes vs allergies....of course we could've asked after the fact for no apricot/ sauce but hated to be a pain. Now, back to THE reasons to stay here... location of course is very good, price is very competitive and actually a benefit to consider, ambience is lovely...all the perfect touches and then some, they know what they are doing he like a well piled machine. The amenities of help yourself to the soda, water, beer, wine, ice, etc anytime is such a pleasure. The pre dinner or post dinner dessert time is long lasting and delightful, but it would be nice if the hostess socialized if no other guests partake at least when it starts like other bnbs. The rooms were luxurious.... quaint, comfy, nice amenities, beautiful view if you get a balcony, great beds and fireplaces. All in all, we would pick this again over Casablanca, City House, St francis, Powder House, etc. Its a winner without question. Enjoy!! p.s. Dinner at Collage was the very best in st Augustine, bar none!

This was the first bed and breakfast I have ever been to. It was so neat not having the typical hotel experience in this great city. The Inn is very well kept and during Christmas it is well decorated inside and out. They offer breakfast in the morning which can also be delivered right to your door so you can have breakfast in bed. I would recommend staying out in the carriage house on the second floor in Rhapsody Suite #6. It is absolutely amazing. I will definitely be back in the future. The staff is caring and willing to accommodate any request, such as birthday cakes, champagne, wine, dinner reservations, tours, ect.. Parking present right outside.
